Supporting Animal Rescue

Homeward Bound Rescue

Homeward Bound Rescue

Homewardbound Rescue is a small scale dog rescue group dedicated to rescuing dogs in need. We love the Flat Faced Dogs! This comprises of Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Mastiffs, Bostons and many others. We also take in other breeds when there's a need to help other rescue organizations when they are full.

All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated/health checked and micro chipped before adoption.

Our dogs are more often than not are owner surrenders, puppy mills and local shelters.

Helping Homeless Pets

Helping Homeless Pets

Helping Homeless Pets is an organization dedicated to assisting homeless animals by directly supporting legitimate and ethical pet rescue organizations. Each of our members has undergone a screening process, and has agreed to abide by our Code of Ethics.

HHP was created because we believe that by working together we can accomplish so much more.

Action Volunteers for Animals

Action Volunteers for Animals

Action Volunteers for Animals (AVA) is an all-volunteer run charitable animal rescue dedicated to improving the lives of stray and feral animals. We have been a registered charity since 1981 and operate thanks to generous donations by individuals and pet charities.  We work predominantly in the GTA (Peel Region, York Region, Durham Region, Hamilton and Toronto) and are sometimes able to help cats in other areas of Ontario and Quebec.

Many animals are homeless until AVA comes to their aid. Rescued cats are vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Many of the rescued cats also require medical treatment; each year we pay for surgeries, x-rays, medications, blood tests, dental procedures and hospitalizations. Cats are then placed in foster homes until they are ready to be adopted to their forever homes.

Standard Poodles in Need

Standard Poodles in Need

Standard Poodles In Need, Rescue & Re-home (SPIN) is a Canadian non-profit, foster-based organization primarily concerned with the welfare of homeless or unwanted standard poodles but also with the welfare of toy poodles, mini-poodles and poodle mixes.

Pickering Animal Services

Pickering Animal Services

The City of Pickering, Animal Services is responsible for reuniting lost pets back to their owners, pet adoptions, pet licensing, responding to injured wildlife, enforcement of all municipal animal related by-laws and educating the public on the importance of being a responsible pet owner. In addition, they also provide 24-hours emergency response for any sick or injured cat or dog in Pickering.

Animal Services currently runs their animal shelter in a retrofitted building on leased property in north Pickering.  Currently fundraising efforts are focused on helping raise money to build their own brand new Animal Shelter in Pickering.

Team Dog Rescue

Team Dog Rescue

TEAM Dog Rescue is a grassroots, foster-based, Canadian registered charity dedicated to helping all breeds of homeless dogs in our local communities find their forever homes.

From a shared vision of caring and concern for all, TEAM emerged in 2012 in response to a growing need for support from local shelters. Since our inception, over 750 homeless, medical and abused dogs have been welcomed into our rescue, and are now thriving in loving, forever homes.

TEAM Dog Rescue provides medical care, behavioural assessments, ongoing training and a safe haven for our dogs as we work diligently to find them their ideal ‘furever’ homes. What makes us unique? Our focus is on rescuing dogs locally first: from overcrowded and high-kill shelters in Ontario and Quebec, and in partnership with the IFAW Northern Dog Project. TEAM is run exclusively by volunteers, located throughout the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas.

Speaking of Dogs Rescue

Speaking of Dogs Rescue

Speaking of Dogs Rescue Program (SODR) is a registered charity run solely by volunteers. SODR is an all-breed rescue with a focus on senior dogs that is dedicated to assisting dogs from shelters and, when space permits, helping dogs who are surrendered by their owner.  Our dogs are lovingly cared for in foster homes until we find well-matched forever homes.  All dogs entering our rescue are spayed or neutered and have all their medical needs attended to (e.g. heartworm test, bloodwork, vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and often our older friends need dentals). Our adoption process entails a written application, a telephone interview, reference and veterinary checks and an in-home visit. We are committed to placing our dogs in homes that are responsible, caring and compassionate. We actively fundraise in an effort to help cover rescue related costs such as medical care, grooming, boarding, food and supplies (such as microchips, collars, harnesses and leashes). We are always in search of new foster homes where a dog can be cared for and loved until a permanent home is found. Adopt one of our dogs today!
